First of all Gisclair is a sportwriter for the reveille and he has attended practices. Secondly, most others are citing reports from players who have seen him play in practice all last season. Thirdly, some have seem him play in high school. I understand what you are trying to say about internet speculation by average fans, but that doesn't apply to all of "the people who are making these claims on the board". Some of them know what they are talking about.
I'm quite sure you aren't alone in that opinion. It's very obvious KW is/will be an absolute stud. Based on what? He looked great in his high school film, was highly recruited and is getting high acclaims now at LSU. What on earth would make you think he won't be as good? I agree, I don't think Scott is in KW's league and I don't think he'll be in Murphy's league either. Scott had some good runs, but through wide open holes in the line.
When Richard left Rayville there was an article in the local paper and during the article he told the writer that he was up to 203lbs. Since arriving at LSU he has gained about 15lbs. Coach Moffitt has done a great job with our players with his strength and conditioning program. So I am guessing that Richard is now in the 215lb range.
Miles specifically mentions that Murphy had a couple nice runs at Saturday's practice. No mention of any other RBs... http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=27815&SPID=2164&DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=813172
215lbs would be great. It is hard to put on much more than 15 lbs of muscle in a year or so. And since we know that everyone is commenting about his quickness the extra weight couldn't have slowed him up. Hopefully the extra weight gives him some additional power to run through a few tackles. Thank you for the information.
I don't know anything about Murphy. All I know is what yall have told me. Sounds awesome. Scott, Murphy, Williams, I'll let yall debate that. I'm just happy knowing we have 3 damn good backs. My big hope for this year is that we find a rhythm using each one's strength (early in the season) and that they are all happy contributing their part. There are plenty of teams who would sell their souls for our backfield. When you look at these guys I think it had to have some effect on McKnight's decision to not go LSU. I sorta think he'd have come here had we been desperate for a back.
I doubt it. You should look at USC's depth chart with recruiting rankings next to the names... It is sick how well they have recruited, and RB is no exception.
