Miami promised Berlin they would play a game in Shreveport if he transfered to the Canes, so they followed up on that promise. Also, Miami doesn't lose nearly as much when they play on the road against one of their creampuffs as LSU would. However, I am of the opinion that a nuetral site game vs a team like aTm would be great and I have expressed that opnion many times over they years. The revenue would be almost as much because of the high ticket prices and it becomes almost a like an in season bowl game with the fans traveling. And they could also move it, play in New Orleans and Houston.

I would also love to get one of our cupcakes off the schedule. Of course the aTm AD said that he doesn't want to play LSU because of the recruiting factor as LSU tried to revisit playing the Aggies during 12 game seasons a few years back.

Looks like a very strong possibility that we could meet up with the Aggies this year in the Cotton Bowl.

I agree. I think our home schedule will be much improved in the coming years ... teams like Arizona State, Arizona, Northern Illinois, Virginia Tech and Southern Miss. Also rumors of playing OU in the future.

Looks like the goal is to have one cupcake (in-state team), one mid-major team like USM and one BCS conference team.

I think the 12 game season will be back in 2008 (?). I'd like to see us schedule a home and home with A&M or OU or some really big name team.

That is a bold faced lie and before you go on Corey and Brock are very, very good friends of mine.

Having aggy in town used to be great. We played them from 1960 through 1975 (yep, 15 in a row and kudos to the dude that negotiated that contract)in Baton Rouge. Tigers won 11, aggy won 3, one tie. Fans had a ball working on those ice cream truck drivers.

Home and home started in 1986 and ran 10 seasons with the Tigers winning 4 and aggy winning 6 including the last 5 (4 Hallman and 1 Dinardo). If memory serves me, LSU bought out of the contract and opened the following season with Houston. Sorry it's gone. :bncry:

You are exactly right: LSU (at DiNardo's behest, if I remember) cut and ran the same way Va Tech, etc., has cut and run on LSU in recent years.

There's been interest in SE Texas for an annual LSU-Tx A&M game held each year in Houston (a smaller version of UT-OU) for years. There was even a column about it in the Houston Chronicle a couple of years ago.

Once LSU gets Tiger Stadium to where it needs to be and isn't locked into having a certain number of home games a year in order to make a profit, perhaps this can be explored.

Seriously, I can see an annual LSU-A&M game held at Reliant being quite the matchup, perhaps even rivalring Michigan-ND and USC-ND as a good annual, inter-regional game.

(PS-Don't worry about distances, either. College Station is only about 90 miles from Houston but, believe me, the LSU half will always be full when you add in all the Tiger fans here in Houston and the fact that the drive from BR is only 5 hours.)

I didn't make it up, I was quoting what the announcers on ESPN said when the game was played, and I don't give a rat's ass who your friends are.

And I wasn't knocking Miami for doin git, it's a very common practice, especially for Notre Dame.

I didn't realize you were believed everything you heard in the media, sorry.

A 2:1 deal was done with Miami and Tech in 1999, which makes Brock a freshman at UF, so unless Miami contacted Brock Berlin while still at Florida (a major NCAA no no) who buy the way didn't even transfer to Miami for another 2 years, then I think your reporter didn't know what the hell he was talking about either.

And You are right Notre Dame does it too. They have to for they are not in a conference. Other schools have more bargaining power over ND because they are in conferences and ND needs these games to put a schedule together, so it is easier for them to get Notre dame to come play at their house.

I do give a rats ass who my friends are especially if they are part of a conversation that you started.

Maybe a better way to respond to my first post would have been to say something like "I'm sorry cajdav but you're wrong on that one" instead of saying that's a ball faced lie. You accuse me of lying when I heard an announcer say it. Am I just to assume the announcers is lying also.
