If the entire world decided to fly the US flag at the top of all flag poles and eradicate all other flags from the face of the earth, we would still be faced with the same issues of poverty, racial inequality, sexism, greed, etc. There's no shortage of Nationalism or Jingoism in America and no one's confused as to their geographical position on this planet because of what position the US Flag is flown, shown, displayed, etc.

I choose to use my outrage on a cause that actually matters. The US Code agrees with me as evidenced by the absence of a punishment for breaking this law.

It's an unenforceable, nonpunishable law which begs the question if it's unenforceable and nonpunishable is it really a law? I'd say a more accurate term would be "recommended practices".

You clearly don't. It's not foolish. It's part of the custom of this country. I was stopping the conversation with you because I don't enjoy arguing with a wall.

Sure it doesn't hurt me personally or cost me money or confuse me etc...but I have a sense of pride in my country that I don't like to see stepped on that evidently you don't share. That's it. It's pride...there's nothing else to it. I'm not calling for the guy's head on a platter.

I'd love for you to point out where I said this issue was any more important than anything else going on in this country. This is a random thoughts thread. It wasn't anything more than that.

well not really. the US has managed those issues better than almost every other country. so if the world was one big US, most everyone would be far better off.

With the help of the lickspittle media, the meaning of WMD morphed into meaning weapons other than nukes.

A nuke is a Weapon of Mass Destruction as pictures of Hiroshima validate. Poison gas and biological weapons are Weapons of Mass Murder.

How anyone was taken in by the televised WMD lies of 2002 that brought about the unlawful employment of American Armed Forces, is a mystery to me.
