Questions about TS

I've got a couple of questions about Tiger Stadium that I hope someone can answer. Sorry if they've been brought up in another thread.

    1) What's up with the new tickers on the sides of the stadium?

Are these things almost entirely for advertising? Why can't these things be used to scroll scores and stats? I understand that we need all the money we can get, but I quit looking at that crap because its all ads. It's kinda like a TV channel that's always on commercials. I hate the fact that I'm asking the 15 year old kid behind me to look on his supercomputer cellphone and tell me the score of the USC-Notre Dame game every ten minutes. I hope that they're just working out the logistics of getting more stuff up there.

    2) What's up with the TV's on the inside of the stadium on the east side not working?

They haven't been on for either of the games this season. I know that at least some of the TV's are working, because I look up at the $uites and theirs are on. I understand if its a construction problem, but I seriously doubt that is the case. I hate waiting 25 minutes to get a coke and missing a touchdown.

All that being said, I'm a big fan of the TS renovations. I like the new seats, and the front of the stadium will look INCREDIBLE once it's done.

You might want to email Skip all of these questions. Nobody here can (or would if they could) answer them for you.

I imagine they'll have to put something interesting on those tickers eventually in order to be able to sell space on them, but if they can continue to get paid for it, it doesn't bother me.

My guess about the TVs would be construction, as the only other options are chosing not to turn them on & them being broken. Which, now that I think about it, could likely be either of those as well. Of course the TVs in the suites work!

wondering why they didn't post scores on those new screens last game as well. I had to rely on a girl who gave me some wrong information on the USC-Notre Dame game. Boy did I feel stupid passing on the bad info that USC had lost.

The north endzone TV's haven't worked either, i imagine all of the pressbox wiring is not finished.

The new displays are apparently for pure advertising. I've already begun to just ignore them. They were stupid to not mix advertising with some game statistics and scores. No one will be watching once it is known to just be a flashy billboard.

Well a lot of people thought USC had lost at the end of the game. The clock actually ran out. My father-in-law was on the phone with me giving me play by play and he said it was over. A guy walking by overheard so I told him yeah, ND had won. A minute later we knew otherwise. So don't feel too stupid about passing on the bad info. Blame the refs.

Like everything in life, it boils down to money. The tickers (as of now) are just to make ad money. The tv's work in the suites because they probably paid people double time just to keep the big wigs happy. I'm sure the other tv's work; they just haven't spent the money on manpower getting the wiring straight because the gerenal fan doesn't suck TAF's d.ick.

It is still on the scoreboard. The one on the old pressbox is gone, as is the old pressbox.

They show stats on the side boards at halftime. But that is the only time I have seen it.
