Ok, I haven't followed the Nittany Lions this season... In fact they kind of snuck up on me. What I want to know is what distances them from the other one-loss teams, notably us and Virginia Tech? I looked at their scores and schedule (shame on me for doing EXACTLY what the voters do) and I'm not very impressed there. We've played more ranked teams than they have and V-Tech has looked pretty impressive as well. If it were up to me, all biases aside, they'd be behind both VTech and LSU. Ok, ok. It's Joe Paterno, it's the Big 10, LSU has played sloppy and VTech still hasn't gotten the attention they deserve. Go figure. I think it's idiotic to NOT consider where a team was ranked when you played them. ASU would be A LOT different if Keller was around. That team had aspirations to something great at the beginning of the season. Tennessee, what happened? We all knew they were overrated as all hell, but still they were ranked in the top 5! Of course winning "sloppy" doesn't get you many style points these days--no wonder the SEC has lost its appeal. In some ways, college football is getting worse than the NFL--that is NOT a good thing at all. :dis: It's all a moot point though, we'll be in the Sugar against WVU things could be much worse considering the circumstances of this season!
I think the Big 10 being the "best" BCS conference and them being champions of said conference pulls a lot of weight. Sad but true. Some people are saying that the Fiesta Bowl may pass up Ohio State due to not wanting them for the third time in 4 years.
If they pass on Ohio State, they will take another at-large team. No way do they take West Virginia. West Virginia will be in the Sugar, the only question remaining is who will they play, us or Georgia.
we lost to a crappy team. vt got killed. penn st lost to decent team and many think they got robbed anyway.
some have said Orange will take WV. ill try to find them again. supposedly they travel well. the hurdle there is they wouldnt want WV-VT rematch, so probably need VT to lose champ game.
I'll be shocked if the Orange Bowl takes West Virginia. However, that is the only way the SEC Champ will get out of playing them.
