Does anyone know where Lolo Jones is nowadays? She was such a good track athlete. I believe she graduated already but I don't know quite what she's doing now. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Not sure exactly what she is doing lately, but this may point you in the right direction...

Chat With: Lolo Jones of LSU

Jones is a two time national champion and nine time All-American.

Lolo Jones of LSU participated in the Chat Wrap on Monday, March 22, 2004 from 9:00-10:00pm EST. Jones is was instrumental in the Lady Tigers' sweep of the 2003 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor national titles along with their most recent title for the 2004 Indoor campaign. Jones was runner-up in the 60 meter hurdles at the 2004 NCAA Indoor Championships as she tied her personal best time of 8.00 seconds.

In 2003, Jones capped off an undefeated season in the 60-meter hurdles, winning the NCAA title in the event at the NCAA Indoors with a PR of 8.00. She also won the Texas Relays with a meet record mark of 12.90w and led the Lady Tigers to a 1-2-3 finish in the 100 hurdles at the SEC Championships, winning her second straight conference title in 13.05.

A key figure on the relays as well, Jones earned the second individual NCAA title of her career as the third leg on the Lady Tigers' 4x100-meter team that clocked a low-altitude collegiate record of 42.55 at the NCAA meet.

Below is the Chat Wrap session transcript from Lolo Jones:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Kim from Miami: Have you ever considered the 400 meter hurdles?

Lolo Jones - I ran the 400 meter hurdles one time after I graduated from high school in the Junior Olympics. I did really good. I was winning the whole race until the finish line as I was tied with Raasin McIntosh from Texas. The officials said I won and then two hous later gave it to Raasin. After I crossed that finish line, not only one but two paramedics had to pick me off that track. That is a hard race, I think I'll stick to the short races.

Sandy from Iowa: Seeing how the only people who have given you any sort of challenge in college are from Canada, I see the Olympics being a real possibility for you this year or in 2008. Congratulations on your past success and good luck the rest of this year.

Lolo Jones - Thank you, I definately need it.

Jared from Kent State: What has been the single most accomplishment that you are proud of?

Lolo Jones - My accomplishment has not quite happened yet. I have 3 classes left until I get my two degrees from LSU. (Spanish and Economics). I will be the first out of my 5 siblings and my mother and father to not only go to college but to receive a degree.

Ranard Adkison from New York: If you could play another sport what would it be and why?

Lolo Jones - BASKETBALL! I used to be dedicated to basketball. If you would have asked me in middle school or high school what I wanted to do with my life I would have told you some day I would be playing professional basketball. Although my heart was in it I just had more natural talent at track.

Benjamin from Vermont: Was it difficult to adjust to the heat and humidity at LSU? I believe you were from the upper midwest.

Lolo Jones - I didn't know I had asthma until I came down south. It was very difficult to adjust. Coach Shaver didn't make it easy with the very hard workouts and the heat just killed me my first year. The food was also hard adjusting too I went to the emergency room twice because of them darn CAJUN SPICES.

Jason from Seattle: With LSU hosting the MidEast regional meet this season, how much of an advantage is that for you and the rest of the lady Tigers?

Lolo Jones - I think it is an advantage and I think alot more of our team members will qualify because of that aspect and on we'll bribe the officials to disqualify someone if we need it to be done...that was a joke! My coach is going to be mad at me!

Kim from Ohio: What was your feeling after winning the team title and watching yourself on ESPN2?

Lolo Jones - I was exicted that we won the team title but I actually was disappointed with my performance at nationals. It was fun to be on ESPN2, but I lost my voice cheering for my teammates.

Stacy from New York: How pumped are you for the 4x100 meter relay this season?

Lolo Jones - That's the race that I really enjoy! For Penn Relays and Texas Relays all of the team members get really exicted. Muna Lee has been telling me since the first day of practice how she can't wait to run the relay this year.

Ben from Slippery Rock: What kind of workouts do you run to develop your speed late in the season?

Lolo Jones - I can't give out that information somebody might use it to beat me! Just playin. Actually, we do just alot of race situations a couple days out of the week. In those practices we will actually line up and be started with a gun. For example, it will be around six block starts with the gun at race pacet then a 250 or 150 for speed endurance at the end. But of course there are a lot of little secreats I can't give away!

Matt Kennedy from Des Moines - Hey Lolo, remember me from Roosevelt, I was wondering what you are thinking about doing after college as for running and/if you are considering a run at the Olympic team?

Lolo Jones - Hey Matt yeah I remember you, Des Moines is not that big. Hopefully after college I can continue running that has been a life long dream of mine. Plus I don't want to have a real job yet as I like to sleep eat and watch television. I guess that's not a good combo for a professional athlete.

Ronnie Moore from Texas - Hi Lolo, give me your thoughts on the Texas relays and the rivilry with the University of Texas.

Lolo Jones - The Texas Relays is a very fun meet, but this year it's a little different because they will host the NCAA outdoor championships. So running at Texas Relays this year is like a very early dress rehersal for nationals. In regards to the rivilary with Texas, I would say that it was more of a rivilry my freshman and sophmore years. Now that I'm a senior, I know the competitors and we may not say a word to each other before the race but after the race is when I won't hesitate to shake Raasin's or Nicole's hand -- granted I won.

Debbie from Dallas - Do you think you will be able to beat both Raasin McIntosh and Nichole Denby from Texas this year? What are your strategies when you race such tough opponents?

Lolo Jones - If I didn't believe I couldn't beat them, I guess I should stop running now. I honestly love running against them they are great competitors and help push me to my best.

She is back in school after running in the Olympic Trials and in Europe. I think she will probably graduate in December. She is running professionally for Nike. Really great girl, great ambassador for LSU and track program.

  4. She was kinda hot too if I remember correctly.
