my two sisters, my mom, and my wife will be off in some other part of the damn state.
I get the speakers out and turn on the music while cooking, and all 4 come plop themselves right there and say "turn down the music so we can talk"

I have a way to handle that, but I must warn you it is incredibly risky.
Insert yourself into their conversation. Not just a comment every now and then, I mean dominate it so they can't really talk at all.

You'll either drive them and their conversation to another area or be stuck with them for the rest of the day or visit or forever as their new leader.. It works about 3 out of 4 times. You just have to ask yourself how painful the current situation is and is it worth the gamble.
