I remember last year, Saban talked about there not being a leader or two that stood out and challenged the team to perform. He said it bothered him at first, as usually he thought great teams had to have leaders. But he went on, it seemed the team did not need identified leaders, because everyone took care of himself, was responsible, did his job. Saban indicated it was unique, and it worked, and he kinda marvelled at the kids for being so mature. Go to this year. We're young. Without an example of leadership from last year, could it be we really need it this year, but nobody steps forward because they didn't learn how the last couple of years? Just an idea for discussion.
This is not exactly the type of leadership you are referring to but.... On defense LSU needs a leader on the field like Jack Hunt was for the team last year. Someone who can manage the defense and Call the proper coverages. Last year's team was a very special team. So much talent but most of all so much experience - something that is invaluable to having success.
