i think i confused myself with my own post. what i was trying to say is that we wear white for the first home game in tiger stadium (ooc or not) after that we generally wear purple for ooc foes. i need a nap :wink:
Source? We prefer white for all games. Are you saying that because the Tigers usually appear in white for TV or did a coach or someone in administration say that?
Anyone else hear we were breaking out Gold jerseys? Seems like I read it would be for the Tulane game.

It's something Nick said when he instituted the policy. He picked one or two OOC home games because they are almost never televised. The big games that have been televised, LSU has worn white. LSU is famous for the white jerseys and Nick wasn't trying to change that, just letting the home crowd see the purple. I have heard no change in the policy from Les or Skip.
I had read that when Nick was here we wore the Purples for the 2nd home game of the season (typically a low level OOC game) and Homecoming. Only other time we would wear them at home is if the opposing team did not agree to us wearing the whites (ala Vandy). from Wikipedia.....(believe if you like!) In LSU's first home game with the white jerseys, unranked LSU staged a stunning 12-6 upset victory over #6 Auburn. In 2000, LSU's new coach, Nick Saban, altered the tradition of the white home jerseys: now LSU only wears white jerseys for the home opener and for home games against SEC opponents. For non-SEC home games other than the home opener, LSU wears purple jerseys at home.
