Yes, martin should own a Chicago Manual of style and learn to punctuate, for sure. But it is also important to read the damn thing.

The Chicago manual is a style guide for publishing. The publishing industry has long had access to many typefaces, type sizes, media sizes, graphics, etc.

However before the advent of the personal computer and the laser printer, average people had to use a common typewriter which usually had only one typeface and one size and used a 8.5 x 11 media size exclusively. In typewriter protocol, one often used all caps for titles because there were few other alternatives with no bold face type or larger sizes. Likewise, typewriters had to underline instead of use italics and had to double-space after periods, which isn't done in publishing. But typewriter protocol is obsolete and since word processors can now produce publishing quality work, publishing protocols now apply. And ALL CAPS are out for titles.

Furthermore, the internet has developed an entirely different set of style protocols including the one you are bumping up against. I would do research into "netiquette" to improve your net writing style.

Well, in my experience, lack of formal education is a lifelong handicap. I do admire those that don't let that keep them from exercising their brain. But it is a mistake to imagine that the educated are "indoctrinated" or incompetent.

I'll buy that. The unfortunate converse is that the Internet's freedom of editors and publishers has enabled fools and idiots to flood the internet with foolishness, lies, deceptions, unsubstantiated claims, misplaced ideals, ridiculous conclusions, and injustice of the most egregious kind.

It's why we often demand that they defend their thesis, substantiate their claims, and demonstrate that they actually know what they are talking about.

Address what issues? We're begging you to get engaged with the spirit of debate around here. It is you that refuses to engage in discussion or addresss anybody's questions. Talking to you is like talking to an term paper. A very dry and tedious term paper.

You should be blogging. Discussion forums require interaction that you seem to dismiss while you rotely post your peculiar philosophy.
