Taylor has a shot to get drafted, mid to low rounds is the word I'm getting. Still a long time till draft day.

I'll take PP7. He's a great returner, like TM7. He produced a little more INTs. TM7 is better at stripping the ball. The gap b/t the two is coverage ability. PP7 is far superior in his cover skills as compared to TM7. Some of that, I believe, is the heigth difference.

PP was the most naturally-gifted football player I think I've ever seen.

TM is one of the most passionate players I've ever seen.

They are totally different, though--so it's really not even fair to compare them. PP was a coverage corner (much like Mo Claiborne), while TM is often allowed to rove and create havoc.

I'd be happier if the Saints picked him up and he showed out in training camp and replaced Malcolm Jenkins. :tigereye:Saintslogo

If we are talking about special teams returns, and cover corner, it's Patrick Peterson all day. But if we are talking about special teams coverage, tackling, pressuring the quarterback, making plays on defense and special teams on kick coverage, it's TM7 all day.

PP7 had weaknesses but they were covered up by his freak athleticism. Mathieu wouldn't be able to any of what he does if it weren't for guys like Mo, Reid, Taylor or Simon. Nobody likes a guy who's always trying to strip the ball if he should be making tackles. If you had to build a defense around one, it would definitely be Patrick Peterson, but a guy like Tyrann is def a game changer but only if surrounded by other talent.

But on this past year's team, I would rather have TM7. He was a game changer in every big game and sparked wins against Oregon, Arky, and UGA. PP7 was great but he couldn't change a game unless they threw the ball at him.

Now if we could have had another year of Reid and Taylor, Mo, and PP7, with a roaming TM7...... Or I guess it would have been TM14.
