So then you should like this law because it will result in more people paying into healthcare, it's already slowing the rate of medical inflation and it will eventually reduce the deficit by very conservative estimates. It's a plan that works in capitalist economies like Germany and Switzerland and is working in Massachusetts. It keeps insurance companies involved, hospitals are going to get their money and most people who have no insurance now will have access to it.

I fail to see the evidence that it's going to fail or be a "train wreck" to use the current buzzword. The GOP is scared shitless because despite their best efforts to undermine it and try to defund it, it's going to work and they're going to look like total fools.

What I don't understand is how so many conservatives forget they were begging for this exact same plan back in the 90's when Clinton was pushing the public option...

One thing lost in this entire conversation is that the individual mandate was an idea born at the Heritage Foundation during the nineties to combaty Hillarycare which would have been a single payer system. In fact, if you go back to the 2008 Presidential debates the ACA is a lot closer to what McCain ran on than what Obama endorsed. In fairness, I feel about 100% certain that the implementation will have it's hiccups and could indeed result in the Republicans gaining some ground in the House and Senate in 2014. I feel equally certain that there will be portions of the bill that will need revising once it is implemented. However, contrary to popular belief in GOP circles, I think the longer term prospects for the Republicans who are demonizing the ACA are not good. I do expect the overall sentiment about the ACA to be positive in the long term.

So, you think that will last forever?

You are really a one-issue guy.

Yep. People that choose to make their living off others aren't my problem. Too lazy to work. Fuck them. Those that vote for a living can eat shit and die for all I care. My family is my only responsibility. If some woman wants to have a Half dozen kids with no means to support them. That's her problem, not mine.

Until the gubbment says "It just isn't fair that you have money and the hood rat with 6 kids doesn't, so we are going to take some of yours and give it to her". Then it is our problem.
