i know he's supposed to be the man, but its hard to believe that all of the best SEC skill players are at Ark, UK and Vandy.

I heard he had Auburn at #41:confused:

BTW LSU was #21 last year and he had AU vs OU in the Championship.

How is Early Doucet the 4th ranked receiver, yet not even 4th team offense?

I bought the issue off the newsstand yesterday and, yes, he has AU at #41.

That AU vs OU pick didn't look too shabby when he made it, as AU was a clear fav in the SEC and OU looked stacked...until Brett Bomar's incident came to light.

Steele's the man, mainly b/c he gives you an insane amount of info to back up his picks. Of his 8 statistical "models", 7 have LSU going 12-0.

    I'll take it.

Interestingly, he's pimping OU more than anyone else I've seen this offseason, ranking them #3 (!)

As for the SEC, he was spot on in picking Arky to represent well in 2006...and he's doing so for OBC and S Carolina this year. In fact, he's picking Florida THIRD in the East, behind UGA (1) and USCar (2).

    Wow.

As big of a homer as I am, I don't understand his #17 ranking of Alabama.

Any team that can year in and year out have 9-10 win seasons in the SEC, should be thrilled with the state of the program. Toss in a visit to the SECCG every two or three years and win an occasional one would qualify as an elite program. That type of record in any other conference would get the sports media conferring the term "dynasty" on you.

Agree, but Saban so correctly stated it one time: "This year's accomplishment becomes next year's expectation". :)

Agreed. While CLM has had two wildly successful years, you have some sports writers stating that anything less than an SECCG trophy will be considered a failure. I call BS on that. They forget what conference that he coaches in.

There are still some who don't even give him credit for those "Two years". "They weren't his recruits".........if he woulda lost they sure would've been his though.
