1. no he shouldn't play, but I think he should be able to take most snaps next year...and the next... etc.
  2. Maybe if he earns it...

Ryan shouldn't have his redshirt lifted unless absolutely necessary. As of now, we definitely have one healthy QB.
  3. well yeah if he cant cut it of course he shouldnt start... but i bet he can.... who knows, time will tell.
  4. I bet he can too, once Russell goes pro. :thumb:
  5. which may not be long if the Saints take a look at him they'll think he is Arron's clone.

  6. Be nice

  7. These comparisons to Brooks really bother me.

First of all, Aaron Brooks has leaps and bounds more experience than Russell has. JR is only a redshirt sophomore in college. Brooks has been a NFL qb (well he is a qb on a nfl roster at least) for several years now AND has his college years under his belt as well.

Second, Brooks is a pathetic excuse for a teammate. For example, this past weekend he was caught on camera laughing and squirting a water bottle at teammates on the sideline. This was on live tv just a couple of minutes after he threw his second interception.
  8. I see this happening. Russell will jump to the pros next year. Flynn will be here to start his senior season. I don't think Perrilloux will play until the following season. He is a good athlete but if you remember Russell was the best in the state of Alabama when he came to LSU and look at the work he has had to put in. Sorry...I just don't think it would be wise for him to burn his redshirt year and screw up his opputunities down the road. He will need some work before he is ready to start for this team.
  9. If I was RP, I'd both refuse to freaking play and be absolutely pissed if LM came to me and asked me to play.

WTF did he sit all year for if LM was going to burn an entire season for one game?

Burning the redshirt would be a thousand times worse than all of LM's gaffes to date put together. Beyond idiotic is what it would be, no question.

The only way he should burn a RS for a bowl game is if LSU had won last Saturday and, somehow, made it to the Rose Bowl. Anything less is asinine to even discuss, IMO.
