Ppl seem to think that Mcknight is just the "perfect" team player but thats not all the way true. If this would've been Mcknight rather than RP he would've been transfered.
Your right. That's one thing I have to give RP. Unlike Mcknight, he must not mind living close to home and seems like a team player.
I just dont see why he couldnt have worked with the team this summer. He's in summer school so he might as well
Absolutely not true. A few weeks ago, JM was the guest in a chat on the SC Premium Forum. He was asked specifically about his decision. He said that while it was tough to make a choice that he'd known for years that he wanted to go to USC. His final decision was made by the time the AAA game was over and had as much to do with Coach Norton and his career aspirations as a broadcaster as anything else. It might also be of interest to know that he spoke in very positive terms regarding CLM and staff. He said that he'd heard a lot of negative recruiting (i.e. against USC) but NOT from the LSU coaching staff.
It's simple. Miles is trying to send a message. There have been too many bad headlines for the Tigers this offseason, and this is his way of trying to eliminate that stuff by telling the team and the LSU community that those things will not be tolerated no matter how many stars you have. I don't know if it is the right way to go about it, but he HAS to do something.
He didnt say that. He said that Lee will see the field earlier than expected and was implying that he is in the doghouse and he doesnt want to talk about him all Summer. Similar to what he did with Alley. Miles said as of now I guess Lee is our #2.
Well he is suspended from the team so of course he is not practicing with them. This is not new. :dis: As soon as his suspension is over he'll have to come back and earn his spot. I have no doubt that he will.
When you're suspended indefinately from a team, that scenerio appears likely...However, I think Miles said that now in an attempt to get RP to put his head on straight....scare him into good behavior so-to-speak. Either way, this is the start of year 3 of possible 5 with RP in a Tiger uniform and he has yet to show anything, so it's not like we KNOW we're missing out on something phenominal.... I rather focus on the QB that we DO KNOW what he's capable of doing: Matt Flynn. If Lee ends up being our back-up then so be it. If Lee is forced into the lineup due to injury to Flynn, then so be it--Lee will certainly get his early-reps in preperation for future seasons that's for sure. Is it a good situation to be in where your backup to a National contending team is a true Freshman?? Ugh...no. Not by a long shot...but it's not a good situation where your POSSIBLE back up and once-thought-heir-to-the-starting-job begins to get himself in situations that only former Virginia Tech QB's can relate to.
I don't doubt RP's physical abilities to perhaps play his way back into the position (after all, even if the physical attributes were equal between RP and Lee, RP would certainly have to have the edge in experience and knowledge of the playbook, etc.) but I do question whether or not his mindset is going to put him in a position to succeed at getting his job back. Too many times you hear about a player with talent on top of talent, but when they don't have the correct attitude, all that "talent" turns out to be wasted. I'm not ready to give up on RP, but as long as he's suspended and not with the team, then I will focus on the players that are with the team. When RP comes back and starts showing that he's ready to play football no matter what position on the depth chart he finds himself at upon his return, then I'll worry about how he can help the team win games, etc.
