Sometimes I think that holding is just something that they like to throw out there randomly just to make it happen less than it would if it weren't a penalty....

It happens all the time... It's sort of like they use it in a "scape-goat" type manner. Every once in a while someone will get "caught" and they will call it... but the rest of the time they let it go...

This has to be the worst year of officiating that I can remember by the SEC.

That's a sad statement considering how bad they've been for years.

FWIW, there were holding calls *missed* on both sides of the ball. Quite frankly, I think the officials just decided not to call a lot of them. I can point to Britt literally tackling a few players Saturday...just like I can point to Terrance Jones being held many times on his blitzes.

Oh well...if there is any place to put blame it has to be at Bobby Gaston's feet.

There was particularly obvious hold by Bama in the 2nd half. Croyle dropped back to pass in his own endzone when the tahd was inside their own 5. The Bama right tackle had a vise grip on an Tiger DE. All the tahd fans for three rows from me in each direction saw it.:cuss:

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Deceks7 again.

Hasn't this already been spoken of? Yes it has...I replied with this...

It happened both ways...The whole game. They were just very inconsistant.
