We also still have troops in Japan and Germany 63 years later.

"fighting" and "fought" being the operative words of the original post...

Of course Bush's sycophants are eager to shoot down the idea that we've been there a long time, lest we appear weak and ineffective, rather than strong and horribly poorly led.

The US still has troops in Texas 170 years after occupying it.

Dont forget the southern states are still occupied by the Yankee army 140 years after the War of Northern Agression.

Along the lines of this thought on this Sunday I was watching Fox news this morning, something I rarely do is watch the news these days.
Anyway they were showing Rumfeld's plans for change of direction and one
thing was beefing up the borders with Iran and Syria.
It seems like I suggested that on these forums over a year ago?
I would like to point out that our government must be stupid to try and put
a democracy between Iran and Syria while ignoring the fact that they have
done everything to try and stop it and it appears to have worked.
I also saw some weapons made in Iran this year had been captured in Iraq.
NO Guts NO Glory, Bush seems to turned into a puppet shortly after he was
re-elected meaning he does nothing and takes no chances.

That is not a point; it is a statment. Every statement should have a purpose. What is your purpose in making the statement other than just to make the statement. If you don't have a purpose then your statement does not have a point.

Have you not seen the thread about nothing? That disproves your idea that every statement has a purpose.

Hopefully the purpose of Crip's statement was pointing out either how much better we used to be at war or how much better the opponent has become.
