Why are ole miss and vandy starting the season with a conference game against each other? My guess is that they want to be at the top of the SEC for once, even if its just for a few weeks.

Its so Ole Miss can say they held a 1/2 game lead in the West for the first month of the season.

It's so Eli can pad his Heisman stats and have broadcasters drooling all over him.

  4. Speaking of Eli, they have started printing shirts pumping him for Heisman that say "HeisManning". I really don't think he has a chance.

I think Clarett was the front runner but he's out of it. I don't think Eli is "Heisman worthy" but trust me, the media will make him a candidate. As long as his completions outnumber his interceptions he'll be a strong contender.

It would be ironic if Eli got the Heisman with a great year for 3rd rate Division 1A Ole Piss when his daddy was a deserving candidate who was beaten out by Jim Plunkett and his brother Peyton should have gotten it but got beaten out of if by a receiver/defensive back Charles Woodson

  7. I think the only shot he has is if his team is competitive...but he still plays for Ole Mrs.:D

Nothing against Eli, cept he plays for ole missy.

There are a few more conference openers in the 1st week:

    Okie State v Nebraska
    TCU v Tulane
    Fla St v N Carolina
    E Carolina v Cincy

I don't like the idea of starting your season with a conference game....need a warm-up 1st.....even if it is against a tough opponent....just not a conference one.

Got that right. Maybe third Manning will be the charm.
