Just noticed that the Cowboys have a recruiting class of 30 players this year!

7 of their commitments have ALREADY signed. ...I know all of those are Junior college players, but with three of them being 4-stars and the rest, 3-stars, PLUS the 23 other players, that's a MIGHTY big class with a good bit of talent seemingly ready to produced the next 2 seasons.

Okla St. might be making their Division push NOW...

It's amazing what a 160 million dollar donation to the athletic department can do.

You do have to appreciate the determination Okla. St. is showing and their dedication to making that program relevant in not only the Big XII, but in college football over-all.

JUCO players aren't a good way to build a program. JUCO players should be used to fill unforeseen events, like a couple players at a position not developing according to schedule, injuries, or whatever else causes immediate need in select positions.

No, but when you are Okie State, you take it. It's a quick fix to drum up fan support...

Well the thing about that "quick fix" is that it takes away from your ability to build for the future because that scholarship can't go to a player that will come in & develop for 4-5 years.

Maybe this philosophy will pay off for them, but I don't think it will in the long run.

I think it gets them wins over teams that they should have beat this year, but like you said, not much after that...

A program going heavy on JUCO isn't a way to build a solid program. No doubt. But, making that statement in regard to the Okie St. program doesn't fit. 7 of those JUCO's are back-counted towards '07 with 23 and counting for the '08 class.

They are accomplishing both...quick fix, along with building for the future.

True enough - Mississippi State had some success under Jackie, but it was mostly JUCO and you see how long it has taken Coach Croom to rebuild.
