Actually, the writer is trying to defend Quinn in his article, that's why he's trying to put off Russell as not the much superior one.

He faced unrelenting criticism on this board, for one; after the Tenn WIN!

Are you kidding?? Our fans were split, and that's being conservative, on whether "He should be our starting qb" up until the last couple of games. I'd like to know how many times I had to defend him in conversation around here (Where I live)- EVEN AFTER he was SEC Offensive player of the week........TWICE.

I'm a JR fan, but to be honest, Quinn showed enough leadership in the '05 USC game to satisfy any questions I would have regarding his leadership abilities. They both have their strengths, and they both certainly have their flaws.

We could subsitute any two qb's names for theirs and say the same but leadership was not a flaw for JR. He was very composed, even in the toughest of times and his # of come from behind wins vouches for that. :thumb:

I agree. Russell has developed into a great crunch time qb. He is very calm and it shows when he is in the huddle.

Wait a minute Auburn fan, are you COMPARING Quinn to RUSSELL??? Its like comparing a toyota to a freaking MERECEDES!!! Russell is 10X the QB Quinn is, and everybody saw that. Hell, I posted a link to an article about what the NFL SCOUTS think about him, and they think he's the biggest bust in the NFL. Btw, every QB gets sacked, so dont be so glad about it...
And btw, have a look at the new mock drafts, most of them have Quinn out of the TOP 5 picture, he'll most probably slip to Miami, who are willing to take him.

I was on a raider board lurking earlier and had to laugh at one of their nicknames for Quinn: Brady Mirer.
