I am just amazed that someone would come post on a rival's site in mid December boasting about getting a new coordinator.

I just want you guys to remember this post.... The pieces have all come together. Mitch has arrived, and we even got some unexpected gifts such as Ben Cleveland and Damian Williams. Optimism is at an all-time high, and there are talks of a 9-10 win season. We have 2 perfectly capable 1,000 yard rushers in Felix "The Cat" Jones and Darren "D-Mac" McFadden, and an elite, yet young, receiving corp. Perhaps we're young, but we have talent and that's what counts. We also signed Alex Wood, former NFL quarterback coach. Among his quarterbacks, Daunte Culpepper whom he led to a Pro Bowl. Keep this in mind when we are SLAUGHTERING the Tigers next year in the Rock. We won't need a Miracle on Markham to win it this time. Geaux Hogs!

Good luck with that high school coach as an SEC OC.

I dont want to sound like i am bashing Jamarcus Russell but just from watching the Peach Bowl and hearing some of the offensive players talk it sounds like we were not being put in the right calls alot by JR and that is why we had some trouble moving the ball with consistency.

If our QB is not reading the defense correctly alot of the time then that is why it is we were having so many improvised plays .

I think that is the reason he split time with Randal the year before because he was not making proper reads.

JR is going to have to improve that part of his game in order to make the offense move more consistently.

Being football smart is just as important and maybe moreso at QB than having the greatest physical skills.

Some of the biggest plays a QB can make is putting his team in the proper running play at the right time and just handing the ball off.

Why does this (Jamarcus reading defenses) keep coming up? According to Jimbo, Jamarcus is excellent at making reads (probably better than Flynn at this point because he has had more experience) and keeps getting better.

Not only that, but in the Peach Bowl we had to used a much more simplified playbook because Flynn wasn't familiar enough with the full one.

 Please stop by more often. Best laugh I've had in weeks. The "Cat" and "D-Mac"? You're killing me. 9-10 win season? When pigs fly, or should I say hogs.

lil jules is correct atleast according to Jimbo. Jimbo said in an article that JR is the best he has ever coached as far as checks go and he has more resposibility then even Mauck had. I don't believe that for one damn second though.

Hogzfan you do have a good young team but don't go getting cocky because you signed a HS coach to become your OC. I have heard good things about him and I expect ya'll to have improved by the time we play but come on don't go writing checks with your mouth that your azz can't cash.
