I listened to most games on the radio as well. I can't remember what I did yesterday, but the play by play announcers name was Gene Elston.

I went to Jesuit High School....in between Rusty Staub and Will Clark...2 great first basemen.

Years ago, I wanted front row seats, which I'd never had at AT&T park, I planned a trip to see
the Phillies on a Sunday, and Pittsburgh the next day. The price of tickets for a Giants' game depends on the team they play, dodger tickets cost a lot, Cubs and Boston too. The Phillies were a top team then, tickets to see them were kinda spendy.

My Sister often treats me to a game for my birthday, I'm usually able to cajole her into a second day if it's just her and I,.. nice hotel etc. she spends a fortune on me,.. but this time I ponied up for the tickets. $140 for a front row ticket to see the Pirates, who were pretty bad then, the same seats the day before vs Philadelphia, over $400 each. We beat the Phillies, lost to the Pirates, but man it was like living in a dream

They had a ceremony right before the Pittsburgh game,.. a golf cart drove past me, I couldn't believe my eyes, there was Willie McCovey, not ten feet away from me,.. as he passed I yelled, "Mac", he didn't turn, but he raised his arm, I like to think he waved it for me.

Will Clark once bought me a drink at Buck's bar and sat next to me for about a half an hour. He was in my younger brother's class at Jesuit.

He was nice to me.

Yeah, Clark was great, maybe a tad assholey, but I loved him, still do,.. he works for San Francisco now as a special adviser,.. see and hear him a lot during the Giants broadcasts.

I once tried to buy a Bullwinkle the Moose sweatshirt from Randy Jackson at a blues club between sets of a Stevie Ray Vaughn show. At that time he was a little more famous than SRV but neither was nearly as famous as they would become. He was a nice guy but he didn't buy me a drink and he wouldn't sell me his sweatshirt. He was in my younger brother's class at Lee High.
