I had me some good times to EWF music. Great memories. And I wasn't even a soul music guy.
Then a while back I saw a Chicago and EWF together in an old farts concert. Shit those dudes could still play. They needed a younger voice - singing was off - BUT DAMN they could play.

Thanks Maurice, rest in boogie; not peace, BOOGIE

Dude had pipes for real. Loved me some EW&F. Seen em 2 times when I was a kid. Was once one of the best stage shows of the era.

Maurice was retired by the time they did the show with Chicago. All that's left of the original band are Phillip Bailey, Maurice's brother Verdine and Randy Johnson.

@CajunlostinCali I was front row, center for them in BR when "Let's Groove" was top ten on the charts. Suckas worked their asses off for 3 solid hour, incredible show

It was good stuff, though. Fantastic talent. They wrote some good tunes.

you were most fortunate to be able to say that, what a great band and some incredible singers and songs they wrote

still one of the best songs of all time....one of the very few that gives me chills every time I listen to it:
