So on the hedge your bets thing, what if there is a god but it's not a Christian one and you did it all for nothing? I just think it's so incredibly egotistical and ridiculous for a virus with shoes to think they know for a fact there is someone pushing buttons, when we have ZERO proof.

They used to burn pantheists at the stake

The Catholic church regarded pantheistic ideas as heresy.[13]Giordano Bruno, an Italian monk who evangelized about an immanent and infinite God, was burned at the stake in 1600 by the Catholic Church.

Bruno wasn't smart enough to keep his mouth shut. Did he really think he wouldn't get burned at the stake?

courage to stand up for what you believe in a better characteristic than being smart. Unless what you believe in is lunacy.

I believe it is lunacy to run your big mouth at the risk of getting yourself burned at the stake. Have you ever burned yourself even in a small way? Hurts like hell doesn't it. In Bruno's day executions did not tend to be very humane.
