1. The list of depressed, drug addicted, and sadly, dead comedians is a long one. I have read that many of them get into comedy in an attempt to avoid the sadness.

I saw him live once. The show was over 2 hours and at the height of his cocaine addiction. He was so manic and the entire show he never stopped moving or yelling. I was glad when it ended and exhausted. I left the theater feeling depressed myself from all the screaming.

  2. I remember seeing him on the Tonight show many times. He would have Carson laughing so hard that Johnny had tears flowing from his eyes. He wasn't alone. A true comedic genius.

  3. Wasn't Robin Williams one of the people who found John Belushi dead?
  4. My daughters and I had just watched the end of Dead Poet's Society this morning. How crazy...

  6. No. Belushi was found by someone else. Williams was at the hotel with him earlier, meaning they probably did drugs together, but Williams left and Belushi was still alive.
  7. I've never been depressed a day in my life or ever had a suicidal thought, so I guess I can't relate. But Robin Williams was worth over $130 million. I don't have a problem in the world that $130 million won't fix.

  8. I feel you but clinical depression includes problems with brain chemistry. It is far more than just being sad every now and then. Any physical ailment a person could have would be met with treatment and support. Mental illness carries a stigma. Money can't fix depression.

I also forgot he had open-heart surgery a few years back and depression is a very common result.

  10. Robin Williams is really dead? That isn't an internet hoax?
