  4. Coach Jack Ramsey led the 1977 Portland Trailblazers to their only NBA Championship . Trailing 2-0 in the series, the Blazers roared back against Dr J's Philadelphia 76ers, dominating and winning the series 4-2. That Blazer team was the best I ever saw, Red Hot and Rolling, Bill Walton and eleven perfectly matched players. I lived in Eugene then, everybody had Blazermania, it was the biggest, most exciting sports moment in the State of Oregon's history. Sadly, the next season, after compiling something like a 53-7 season record, injuries then tore that team apart.

  5. @GiantDuckFan That was a great series for the Blazers, although I was a Sixers fan and very disappointed with the outcome. I also got sick of hearing Musberger call Walton "Mountain Man."
  6. Yeah, Mussburger's a tool,.. and seems to be getting worse.

    mctiger, check out Julius Irving slamming at about the 1:20 and 4:20 mark, loved to watch that guy play.

  7. I just saw this on the Advocate app. John McGinnis dead at 66. He wasn't a national celebrity but he was a well known political author in Louisiana. He wrote The Last Hayride, a best seller about Edwin Edwards
  8. He was also editor of the old Gris-Gris one of the first alternative tabloids. He took it from an underground newspaper to an influential mainstream publication. It is where he got started in political writing.
