1. Heck, I had a whole kidnapping plan for Tubbs family but it got foiled at the last second.
  2. I hate to admit it, but I listent to Gerry V fairly often, clicking between him and WWL - Bobby Hebert and Kenny Wilkerson. The things I put up with to hear sports talk!

I find Gerry V's style to be very abbrassive. I think it's mostly a cultural thing. His Double Faux Self-Aggrandizing is so low class and un-funny. "I'm the King of Sports Radio ~you know I'm only joking~ Actually, I'm really full of myself, but aren't we all..." It's just so annoying.

For the most part, he does have a good show. The talk is serious and insightful and his guests are knowledgeabe. I'm waiting for him to get more adjusted to our perculiar South Louisiana style. Granted there are a whole bunch of idiots out there - just total meat heads - that call into sports shows with nothing insightful to say whatsoever. But that's true of all talk shows.

Gerry V. keeps running these ads, trying to teach the listening public "how to make a proper call to his show". Completely sad.

One more thing, I heard the show with Floyd. Gerry V was a complete ass to him. Here's more, Floyd had one season with the Hornets, and he couldn't get the "talent" to perform. The team, like most NBA teams, was full of prima donnas, who don't like the coach. Well, Floyd gets fired after one year. Gerry V puts a stick in him. He says that Floyd was out of his league in the NBA (maybe so, I'm no expert, but he didn't exactly get much of a chance to show his coaching skills after one measely season in N.O.) In comes Byron Scott. Gerry V is all over the guy's jock. Well, gues what, the prima donnas won't be coached by him either, and the team starts to clean house and start over with new, inheralded players. The Hornets have a terrible season, with hardly a win. So, what does Gerry V. have to say about Scott? He finally calls out the players, but Scott gets a pass. And that's the way it should be, but why the double standard? Gerry V has a personal grudge against Floyd for some reason, is the only thing I can tell.
  3. I am not sure I could have said it better.

I have stopped and listened to him somewhat before the Floyd thing but after that....I just couldn't take it anymore.

I loved hearing Floyd slap around V
  4. That says it all right there. The guy is extremely unprofessional. Put me in the category that dislikes Gerry V.
  5. Well, I can tell you that every one I've talked to (several of them really don't like Tim Floyd) agrees that you handled the situation very, very poorly.

You'll never be any good in your business if you don't listen to the criticism of your audience and make changes. By now, you should have recognized that you were wrong and were extremely unprofessional. Instead, you are defending it which tells me all I need to know about you and your show.

Furthermore, I saw the way you turned on Jonathan Sullivan and Devery Henderson when they didn't show for an interview. Am I saying that Devery and Sullivan were right to skip your show after scheduling? Of course not. But a professional would have moved on. A loser goes on to a message board and hangs them out to dry on the same day that they didn't show.
  6. As an LSU fan, I think Tiger fans can be jerks like drunk guys in their early twenties getting in the face of the fifty-something SEC-opponent fan's face and yelling "Tiger bait!!!" in front of the stadium. I would think that can be scary and is too confrontational for my tastes.

LSU fans can also be the best fans as was mentioned like giving food to the opposing fans and welcoming them to the party.

Of course, all teams have kind and jerk fans. I did a poll on Tigerforums last year asking which school had the biggest jerks as fans and Tigerforums members voted LSU first place.

I am a huge LSU fan, especially football, as are almost all of us on this site. And, this is my favorite LSU site to interact with other LSU fans. I also like DandyDon, Tigerbait, The Advocate, LSUsports, Times-Pic and TigerRag.

I sort of like how this bashing Gerry V stuff has headed. He seems to take it well. Personally, I like that he didn't bail after he saw his intial reception. I also like that he jabs back when he is attacked. It's probably good for him to hear legitimate criticism about his show and even the people who are very angry. I for one respect the right of the members who don't like him because of his style, humor, or treatment of Floyd, but I also respect that he puts himself on the line by going on sites like this with his own name and taking the fury. How many big market radio and TV personalities do this too, almost none. Why? Because it takes guts. I also respect that he is asking knowledgable fans who have grown up with LSU to give their take. He acknowledges that he has only been in Louisiana for two years and he is trying to learn from us, plug this site on his program, and talk more LSU in New Orleans.

It's fair to dislike him for the above-mentioned criticisms, but doesn't he deserve some credit for the above-mentioned reasons?
  7. Easy there skippy. A quick search reveals you conducted no such poll on this forum.
  8. A quick search reveals that he indeed conducted a such poll on this forum.

The same quick search reveals that LSU was not voted first place.

    Sorry skippy.... :D ;)
  9. Sorry I remembered incorrectly. They might have been first when I stopped looking at the poll or I just remembered it wrong. But still, LSU was voted in a tie for second by our own fans. That does back up my point a little.
  10. I'm not saying that LSU has the biggest jerk fans in the league or doesnt b/c I havent seen every fan in there home environment. It is fair to say that there are some major jerks that attend LSU games. Just as there are major jerks from Florida, GA, Tenn etc. I think its only natural that there are some losers who just take it to far. Not only is it embarassing for them, it makes the fan base as a whole look bad. This is in no way a knock on the fan base, its a knock on the losers who are *******s to a) there own team when they play poorly b) fans of other teams when the opposition wins and they want to be proud of it c) the worst is drunk bums who have no respect for people around them. It's sickening when a drunk feels it necessary to shout F this and F that with kids around. Even worse is when they have kids with them. This happens everywhere I know. People like that are just sad.I can't see how this Gerry V bashing stuff is heading in a good direction Max. I dont think it makes him any cooler b/c he can argue with you. You give this dude all sorts of credit for coming on here and pissin people off...hell i originated it haha...:thumb:
