Anyone heard any inside information on the progress of the new baseball stadium?(Designs, drawings, attendance size, when it will begin construction) Just any information would help thanks! Can't wait till the construction starts!
Excuse my ignorance....this is the first I've heard.....Are they going to remodel the "box" or totally rebuild?
Skip wants to build a brand new stadium down Nicholson Dr, possibly moving a hole or two on the golf course. They have the plans, and from last I heard baseball will be in there by 2008 or 2009. Other rumors are that it will hold 9,000-11,000 people. The grandstands will be bigger and more chairbacks will be put in too. IMO, I think it's kind of stupid to move the BASEBALL stadium off of SKIP BERTMAN drive. The new stadium will still be named Alex Box that much they have confirmed (no corporate sponsorship crap). It just won't feel the same though. My biggest fear is that the grandstand will be a mile back and 42 feet up from homeplate like other stadiums. Being on top of homeplate and being a considerable distraction with the crowd noise is what makes the current stadium awesome. I love my seats, i just hope we wont get ripped off when the new stadium is done
Supposed to start in 2008. There are no designs out yet as far as I know. Supposed to cost $22 million.
