The word is he will pay his own way in 2009 and get a scholarship in 2010 if one opens up for him. So you can just consider him a walk-on.

Hill, a defensive back on the football team, is expected to sign a scholarship with LSU that will allow him to play football and run track for two of the Southeastern Conference’s premier programs.

“We’re not sure of the particulars, whether it will be a football scholarship or a track scholarship,” Redemptorist football coach Guy Mistretta said. “But it’s safe to say he’s an LSU commitment.”

If it’s a football scholarship, Hill will be a “grayshirt” signee. Such a scenario would have him enrolling at LSU in January as part of the 2010 class.
