Names on Uniforms?

I'm watching the UTenn - ND game, and it reminded me of something I had thought of before. I like when teams don't have names on their uniforms. It just seems more about team than individual. Anyone have any thoughts?

 

I don't buy it...

The biggest thrill of a college kid's life is seeing his name on the back of that jersey when he goes into the lockerroom

 

I hear what you are saying but i like knowing who is missing or making plays.

 

cgisclair, that's exactly my point. He should be proud to be in the colors and logos of his school instead of being in awe of his last name.

 

A name on your jersey does not mean your gonna play for yourself now. You think a team will play better cause their names aren't on their back? hah..

 

I still don't buy it... and I would be pissed if LSU ever abandoned it...
