Ok, I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I couldn't help starting a thread with my opinion, so here goes:

    1. OSU is a better team than anyone thought they'd be. Very well prepared. Alot of three step drops to stymie blitzes.

    2. LSU's speed advantage was neutralized by sloppy field conditions. COnditions also responsible for O-line not being able to get traction to open holes. JV couldn't cut like he nornally does.

    3. In addition, lack of ability to pass the ball allowed OSU to stack the line to stop the run. Hit just a few passes and the holes would've been there

    4. Plays were not called to allow Randall to succeed. I would've like to see ore slip screens and QB draws/option.

    5. This team is not as good as last years. Talented yes, but as good, no. We lost too much LEADERSHIP. That's not to say we won't be successful and find new leaders throughout the year, but, Randall aside, there's still alot of inexperience at the skill positions on offense.

I know that I'm not brining anything new to this thread that hasn't already been said, but the bottom line is that they won. This was the FIRST game of the year against a bowl bound team with a solid game plan and an experienced QB. Sure we got lucky last night, but so did OSU in certain situations. Also, name me one team in the modern era that's been successful and hadn't had a few lucky calls/plays/bounces at some point in the season. You probably can't. I GUARRANTEE you, no one will even think twice about this game later in the year. We'll just point to the scoreboard. So I hope you guys who are critizing last night's performance will re-think your positions. They'll be plenty of time for that when/if they actually lose a game.

Kind of reminds you of Ohio State? Nawwww No team can be THAT Lucky. Still I'd rather be lucky than good any day. Old saying. I dahm sure hope we don't just consider the Indians a "rent a win" they will be gunning for us once they watch the film. My personal opinion is We will anailate them, I just hope I'm right. :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux:

Arkansas State is not in OSU's class. In fact they are a very bad football team. As bad as LSU was for most of the game last night they would still have blown them off the field. I would rather see LSU open the season with a team like that before they have to plays somebody good so they can get the first game kinks out. Last nights game almost gave me a heart attack. Having said that I'm still glad we played OSU last night since the Tigers ended up with a W. Next week is the game to work out all of the problems before the Auburn game.
Got a long way to go and a short time to get there.
