1. Guys, as a senior, this was my last game in the student section (unless I can get someone to get me some student tickets next year and use my current ID). I have to say, it was a fitting end to my student section career.

The game was spectacular, the fans were really into it and the atmosphere was electric the majority of the time. However, my favorite part was when half the students stayed in their seats after the game for about 30 minutes and cheered the seniors as they left the field. After that was done, they still stayed there while performing the following chants:

    1. We sung the alma mater with the band while swayin back and forth with the person sitting next to you
    2. "We're not leaving...clap clap clap clap clap"
    3. "We want Saban...clap clap clap clap clap"
    4. "Go get Saban...clap clap clap clap clap"
    5. "We're not leaving, GO GET SABAN!"

After about 20 minutes of this, Saban came back out of the locker room and walked up to the student section and expressed his gratitude. The crowd went nuts, especially when the band started playing pregame. I have to say it was one of the greatest experiences of my life and will never be forgotten. Just thought I would share....:thumb:

Edit: The only thing that woulda made the game better is if a random fan woulda jumped out the stands and stomped a mudhole in the ref before halftime.
  2. That was awesome how so many students stayed after the game... We chanted for Saban for atleast 30 minutes it seemed.
  3. That was awesome. Why Saban would ever wanna leave here is beyond me.

Things like this will hopefully keep him here for the rest of his coaching days.
  4. Nick Saban is 41-13 as head coach of the LSU Tigers.... I for one would like to see him here as long as JoePa has been at PennSt. or Bobby has been at FSU.... am I alone ?
  5. Everyone is with you on that one, my friend.
  6. Saban's already in his fifties, but i hope he stays a while but i don't wanna see him end like JoePa did the last few years, i think Saban's record is 47-15 at LSU
  7. I would think IF Saban does finish his career here, he would end up coaching somewhere in the vacinity of 20 years. I would gladly take that.

Agreed about the JoePa thing. Not good at all. Very sad to see.
  8. shaq,

Like you this may have been my last game sitting in the student section. I have already graduated, but I still sit in the student section for about half of the games. I'm starting to know less and less people there so I may not sit there anymore.

But the end was really awesome last night. We always stay till the band stops playing to sing the alma mater. Most games only about 150-200 students stay till the band finishes playing. There were probably at least 3,000 students still there at the end when the band sang the alma mater. Win or lose (which hasn't happened much at all with Saban here), that is always on of my favorite moments of each game. I'm glad a lot of students got to see that.

Then Saban coming back out topped off the night. Easily one of the top 5 moments I’ve experienced while sitting in the student section. Despite the close game it was a great night.
  9. I would've loved to have had the experience current LSU students have in the student section when I was a student ('88-'92). After the '88 Earthquake Game, it was all downhill from there. Enjoy every second of it!
  10. Stacey, you mean to tell me you guys never called for Curley Hallman to come back out of the tunnel with cheers of "Curly! Curly! Curly!"?
