I have heard the same thing here in South Carolina... Tommy is licking his chops after firing some of his staff.
coordinators are rarely ever kept by a top HC at a major university. most bring their own who they are already comfortable with, from knowing the type of personnel and schemes each other want. I wouldn't be shocked if all were let go....id be more shocked if any were kept actually. maybe jimbo if any. I dont think there is any way JF is going to coach in the NFL, much less for NS.
Do you-personally (you can take this post personally as I am addressing you directly here)-have one tiny reason why the next coach-ala Petrino or Davis-would retain either coordinator? Petrino's going to call his own plays...and Davis is going to bring in his own DC...
Never happen. I'm not saying there would not be a position for him, but it wouldn't be as OC. Same with Muschamp, but I hope the new coach decides to keep him (Muschamp) and he wants to stay. That way, the players (offense) only have to learn one new system.
I think Muschamp's going to strike while the iron's hot...and I think perhaps Jimbo's regretting not going through with the Moo U job last year... I will say this, though...Louisville may soon be hiring... I do agree that if either is retained, it'll be Muschamp... ;-)
I hope they both stay....even though I am sure it would be pointless to keep Jimbo really if we get petrino isnt that guy pretty much the offensive everything at Louisville?
If we hire Petrino and keep Muschamp and Fiser (big IF), then Fisher may get lost in the shuffle. You will hear the same thing that you are hearing about Muschamp right now (Saban ran the system and he just called in the plays). Fisher would have to go to a college where he has some control. Muschamp would do real good if he stayed. He can continue the system that Saban put in place, and could make a name for himself on the national scene. So, I would feel real comfortable with our situation if we hire Petrino AND retain Muschamp. Other than that, I don't know if Petrino is the man for the job.
