1. Why? (Just curious)
  2. Military rations are very high-calorie meals.
  3. I don't remember that part of it. Maybe being homeless and auto-less with a preggers wife made me forget about whether or not I was constipated. :p
  4. They can do that. Especially if you eat a lot of the cheese.

My favorites were the old dehydrated beef and pork patty. One of them had a ketchup packet and the other had a soup and gravy base mix. If you were lucky enough to have a squad stove and were able to heat them up mmm mmm mmmm, almost tasted like a burger from home.
  5. I'm going on a 20+ mile kayking trip Saturday and was thinking about one for lunch
  6. Ok, I had to google what an MRE was.....why wouldn't you just make a sandwich? You are about to paddle 20 miles....is it that much effort to pack a lunch?
  7. Sandwiches don't keep well in an ice chest. I've put them in ziplock bags AND a tupperware, in addition. The bread always gets soggy.

Plus, as red pointed out, they (MRE's) have a lot of calories. 20 mile trip will burn a lot...capiche'?
  8. Did you notice the beer on the front of his canoe? He's gettin his calories!
  9. Tiga- wrap each sandwich in a paper towel before packing in a ziplock and they will hold for at least two days without getting soggy
