1. I had a bad feeling about Randall starting... guess I was right.
I did not count on C web. looking so lost and slow.
Did anyone else notice that? (a win at auburn will make this all better!!)
  2. I agree. I was expecting growing pains with alot of the new guys, but was not impressed by alot of the seasoned players who just weren't playing the way they are capable of playing, including Corey Webster.
  3. Our pass defense in general was suprising to me. Way too many times OSU had somebody that was wide open.
  4. Remember this is the same team that passed for over four hundred yards against USC last year. The pass is their bread and butter and they are good at it. Anyone who thought that they would not be able to pass some against us is crazy. To hold this team to just over 200 yards passing is an excellent day.
  5. Not only that, but OSU's scheme involved alot of 3 step drops and short route passes to negate LSU's blitz packages. In addition, the field conditions neutralized our speed advantage. The defense was on the field a long time because of so many 3 and outs by the offense and OSU still couldn't do much, so they're obviously in pretty good condition too. I agree that the offense needs alot of work, but there's nothing wrong with the defense.
  6. From what I understand, Saban was forced to play a lot of zone because of the field. Apparently, he didn't want to run the risk of giving up the big play.

My 2 cents is that we were not getting a good push from the line. The defense looked a little confused trying to get set in their formation quite a few times. This makes me feel like Saban hasn't found an adequate replacement for Jack Hunt.

The offensive line was the biggest disappointment for me. I can't believe that they were pushed around and beaten as much as they were last night.

Although I was not a boo bird last night I was dropping many F-bombs. These boys need to find some consistency soon or it is going to be a loooong season.
  7. I thought they would get plenty of passing yards. There is a difference between getting yards and having guys wide open though.
  8. Do you guys realize how hard it is to play Defensive Back on a wet field. The receiver knows where he is going so its a little easier to make his cuts but the defender doesnt know so it makes it a little harder because he has to cut sharper than the WR just to keep up with him. I watched the replay and Corey W. looked so tentative on his feet. It was like he was scared to go at full speed so he would'nt slip. I think this team will be much better on a dry field.
  9. Not only that- but LSU gift wrapped field position for OSU all night and yet only allowed 15 points in regulation. Our D is not getting nearly the credit it deserves after that game.
I do not think we blitzed enough during the first half. In the second half every time we came with an all out blitz DA went down or he dumped it off short of the first down. Our D owned that team the second half. Plus with our offense sputtering they were on the field all night long.
  10. I agree with this completely. I was stunned during the first half. It seemed that everyone around me in the stadium was talking about the lack of blocking on offense. Some people were complaining about Randall but the majority were expressing their dis-belief with the o-line play and Randall always having a guy in his face or tackling him as he threw the ball.

VERY suprised that the Oregon State defensive line was able to dominate in such a fashion.

Equally suprising though was that LSU played most of the game without a fullback and/or tight ends to compensate for this.
