After passing out about 10pm and getting up mighty early this morning, I managed to watch the game again without commercials and BS. (gotta luv PVR’s!)

I don’t want to make a big post dissecting everything that happened because other posters have done it so well already but basically two words can sum up our performance…INCONSISTANT & EXECUTION (or lack thereof). This holds true across the entire board from offense to defense to special teams and yes…coaching. This game could have easily been a win as much as Oregon State could have easily been a loss.

I don’t like to get involved in the Randall/Russell debate but I think it was a HUGE mistake to take Randall out of the game after that first drive. If your going to run a 2 QB system go with the hot guy, not some scripted junk that takes intangibles out of the equation. I like Russell a lot but for every one of his great looking passes he threw 2 or 3 horrible looking balls. Into the ground, at receivers feet and on that last drive into triple coverage and lucky to not have that one picked off. Randall was equally inept after the first series. He had that dear in the headlights look all night and jittery feet.

This is still a very, very good team that needs a little more time to develop some chemistry and the execution will follow. We are a little spoiled and I don’t take losses well but Im older and been through some tough times with LSU football. We still need to remember what we have now is still WAY better than what many of us have lived through our whole life. A loss today still means its better to be an LSU Tiger than it was just a short time ago. Remember that folks!

BTW…I hate to do this but Im going to anyway. I have to tip my hat to the Chickens. I hate them as much as anyone but they clearly played a VERY gritty game and Campbell looked good. I watched the Miss State game closely and while it looked like Campbell was still the same ole, same ole…I did post on here that they looked “different”. That new offense is a nice scheme for them and all the motion and different sets works well.

    GEAUX TIGERS!

I still think LSU did as much to beat themself in this game as against OSU. Only this team had more talent. We did not complete a pass in 2 qtrs of football. We still haven't tackled like a wining team and the speed on defense has brought in minmal gang tackles. Offense has not geled yet for the long balland JV needs to quit trying to cut every play and hit the line quicker. There are plenty of reasons we lost this game but I just thought I would mention a few I saw there are more, and almost to OSU and the majority of the reasons are on our side of the ball.

This team will get better or Saban will make changes he is one of the best coaches in NCAA and I am looking foward to see what this team does with adversity and challange. JR still has a lot to learn but he should get there because the kid is a competitor.

I was over this game last night, and I am still over it this morning.

However, if I was an Auburn fan I think I would be a little pissed off. Every place I have gone this morning (ESPN, MSNBC, CNN, CBS, other team boards) people are saying that Auburn got lucky with the personal foul call on the missed PAT. It is almost coming accross as a tainted victory for them. Same holds true for Tennessee in their win over Florida and that personal foul call, EXCEPT their kicker made a 50 yard field goal to win that game in the end.

I guess that little snippit of media love stating "YOU LUCKED OUT AUBURN BY GETTING A CRAPPY CALL FROM A REF TO BEAT THE REAL TIGERS" makes me feel that much better this morning.

I predict 60+ points against Mississippi St this weekend. Lookout!

who cares...they are now in the drivers seat of the SEC west. All this other crap really doesn't matter except if you want to feel better. History always remembers the winners and I hope we win out cause I'm sure Auburn will drop atleast two.
