I call them cupcake teams, NOT based on conference affiliation, but by their performance over the course of a season. KY and Ole Miss were cupcakes that year.
So, they are cupcakes in the years that they suck, but they are not cupcake teams when they beat us (or come close)? I think I define cupcakes differently. Cupcakes are teams that simply aren't going to beat any big-time team without there being serious cosmic disruption (Division II teams, smaller conference teams like UNT, Middle Tennessee State, etc.)
I disagree, even cupcakes have the ability to upset a big guy every once in a while. an old piss team that went 2-10 for the reg season, definitely falls into the cupcake category. how could they not?
you obviously didn't read my statement. i said they are cupcakes based on their performance over a season, not just if they beat us.
The 2010 Tennessee team only had 3 SEC wins, UK (who you've labeled a cupcake) Ole Miss (another cupcake) and Vandy (I assume before this season they would have been given the cupcake label). So.... If you only beat cupcakes you aren't a cupcake?
anyhow, back to my original point..... The '11 team obviously had 3 games where they could have just laid low and played lackluster football, yet still win......but they did not. They played their cupcake opponents (however you define or identify those teams) with the same level of intensity as a top 10 opponent.
I don't see Ole Miss as a cupcake. I remember one year those bastards had nary an SEC win all season but sure as hell took a BCS bowl winning LSU team to overtime, scratch that we had to take them to OT to win.
