  1. I like bringing Furcal back for a few reasons.

    1. The Braves haven't had a legit leadoff hitter since he left.

    2. The Braves needed an outfielder. Now they can get one within and move Kelly Johnson out there.

    3. Should the Braves get back in the market for a pitcher via trade, they can ship Escobar with no hassles or worries now.
  2. Excellent move if he can stay on the field. One of the better leadoff hitters.
  3. Unless they can find someone dumber than the Astros who will take him anyway...
  4. Furcal signs with Dodgers for 3 years and a godzillion dollars.
  5. if he's healthy, he's worth th $10M a year.

    Great arm, great speed, great OBP.

    Is Bay still under contract or was this his contract year?

    If they have Bay, Tex, Yuke and Big Papi, that would be quite a lineup.

    And if that rookie from last season can be a dependable leadoff hitter, wow. Best top 6 in baseball, bar none.
  9. not 100%, but I think Bay is a free agent after this coming season.
    Tex would be a huge pick-up.
    Prolly gonna trade Lowell now (and hopefully Julio phucking Lugo).
    Still hope they gram Derek Lowe, but words is that they haven't evenspoken to him yet.
  10. Not to scare you, but word is the Yankees will go after Lowe if they can't get Pettitte to come back.
