giving exact numbers for my IQ, GPA, ACT, SAT scores would be pointless and would turn into a measuring contest. I was just explaing to reb that I am not an idiot, but an educated man with my own opinions.
I guess I don't understand all the bitching... Tiger Rag is gone; it will be for at least a few years. The students think they are being rebellious by chanting *******s anyway. From the far side of the field (The U) , all I could hear was some faint, disoriented screaming. No trace of profanity. This whole thing will die down in a few weeks / months. Without a large group to keep the chant together (i.e. Tiger Band), it will never succeed.
sure it will die down.....not weeks/months..prob in a year or so... ..when I was sitting opposite the stadium in past years I couldn't understand it completely. When it was supposed to be played almost the whole lower part of the student section caught on the second time, with some of the upper next joined in the chant....as a few have said, some heard it clearly in the stadium...and it was "clear" on the radio. The "large group" is the student section. We had "Play Tiger Rag" signs....we chanted...
I see your point. I would not try that with the student body.....However, if there was someone in my section who was really out of order, I would expect a marshall to do his job. As I said, the chant doesn't bother me. I DO THINK LSU IS ABOVE IT HOWEVER! Again--sorry I offended you. It WAS supposed to be deleted.:redface:

So why come out now with it. Why not the year AFTER the started playing it again? Did the really think that it would die off? Are they really that stupid? OR is it only being brought up now because we are in the national spotlight and the want LSU to be the start of a movement to ban obscen language in other college stadiums. Hell as much as I hate COWBELLS, I do not feel it is right to be banning them from the stadium.
I completely agree with no profanity outside of the student section. I've been to one too many Saints games and it a @#$%^ to deal with that drunk guy 5 rows up slurring every word in the book. Me and my friend took the road trip to see LSU - Duke/UT and we had regular sideline tickets because we forgot to get student tickets. He wanted to curse up a storm. I had to point out to him who we were around. Young children, elderly, business men, etc. and it wasn't appropriate. 3...4...5...6....7 years from now....(i'll just get guest tickets from my sitser when im done ) when I'm sitting in the regular seats, ill guarentee you that I wont be participating in the chants that the student section does.
So is it battery with a deadly weapon or assault with a deadly weapon? My understand of the meanings is assault is merely an attempt of an attack with the intent to cause bodily harm, where as battery would the the acuttal attack inflicting bodily harm.
i can see the buses lining up to arrest all the students out of tiger stadium for saying "kick their ass" at the end of "geaux tigers"
