Last year, he had a bunch of seniors that were well entrenched in what they had been doing, this year a lot of up and comers that most likely he feels need and will adapt to different leadership and techniques.
Certainly, everyone else saw this coming. Remember the 'Let 'er rip!' thing? We knew he was a fiery guy. He just seemed very tentative last year, coming into such a high-pressure situation. I think he feels at home now, and knows that this is his ship to steer, not Saban's.
