1. Here's a link to a very good article in today's Shreveport Times:

    http://www.shreveporttimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=200770828002

Here's an excerpt that I love:

  2. Bless those La Tech fans...what else do they have to rip on LSU about- their athletic programs? Impossible. Their higher admission standards? They have standards?. How the town of Ruston is one big party machine? Not close. How we lost our beloved mascot, and how they have to sink so low to laugh about that...yea, go ahead. It speaks volumes about the caliber of fans you have (and all 3 are jerks)

    note to peta:

You're insane. It astounds me how your acts of terrorism is accepted in this country. Mess with our tiger and you'll have the state of Louisiana on your azz.

    Note to new Mike:
Cant wait to see you September 8th. Welcome, buddy. I once saw Mike V spray an Ole Miss fan who was purposefully blowing cigarette smoke in his cage. Feel free to do the same. :tigerhead
  3. I love this quote...

“He is extremely inquisitive,” Baker said. “He is extremely confident, interactive and friendly toward people. He shows no sign of fear. When he entered his enclosure, he walked in like he owned it.”

He already knows there's no place like home. Welcome home Mike!
  4. in the article in the advocate, it mentioned that the sanctuary had some funding problems. i really hope generous lsu fans will help alleviate that problem in honor of our new mike so that his siblings can be well taken care of.

    new note to peta:

this will be a 700 pound tiger that has his own multi-million dollar digs and staff to wait on him paw and paw, including personal physician. i suggest you take your complaints to him. can you say "lunch"?

i thought that was a great sign too. this is no stupid cat. he knows he's got it made! and the statement that he had not been growling much, but doing a lot of chuffing..... that still makes me smile and i read it last night.

and the no sign of fear.... that's mike!:thumb:
  5. Is it weird for a grown man, such as myself, to be excited about tiger? When I stop and think about it I feel like anyone outside of LSU that is an adult would find my excitement over a tiger to be little odd. Guess they'll never know.

  6. This tiger was born in captivity, not captured in the wild. He can't be freed under the circumstances. The huge LSU tiger habitat far exceeds what an average captive tiger has. He has vet-school care and an easy and long life. The only deprivation this tiger has is the company of other tigers. This really isn't a problem either. The habitat is big enough for many tigers. Why is it any big deal to put a companion tiger in there for Mike? None that I know of except the costs to care for two pampered tigers.
  7. I say we put that ridiculous looking Aubie tiger in there with him.
  8. Mike VI sounds absolutely incredible! I can't wait to see him.
  9. I think tigers are normally solitary anyway...
  10. Yeah, but they got to furl sometime.
