  2. I was a student at LSU when Mike V got there. He was great. I enjoyed walking by his cage and watching him on the way to class. I lived on campus in the old upperclass apartments just a short walk away from the cage. I will sure miss him. :bncry: I sure bet there is a tire in heaven that he is attacking about now!

    GEAUX MIKE V! :eek:ldskule:

Can not wait to meet Mike VI

  3. The Tiger

    Tiger, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
    What immortal hand or eye
    Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder and what art
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand and what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? What dread grasp
    Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And water'd heaven with their tears,
Did He smile His work to see?
Did He who made the lamb make thee?

    Tiger, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
    What immortal hand or eye
    Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

A fitting tribute to a wonderful and mighty beast that represented our beloved

  4. Nice post......you brought back some old memories of my college days- I have a degree in English and that's the first time I read that poem and enjoyed it.
  5. My son was able to meet Mike V on the field prior to the '06 Ole Miss game which, as we now know, was Mike's last Tiger Stadium appearance.

My only (younger) brother still lives in BR, where he has for his whole life.

    Guess what his name is?
  7. I was also at the basketball game when mike was introduced. He was such a small cute little guy. He did a super job as the embodiment of LSU.

    Rest in peace Mike.

  8. I didn't know Tigers only live 15 or so years. RIP Mike.

There is a nice pic montage in lsusports.net.

I went to school with Mike IV. His cage was much smaller back then. This Mike got to experience some nice upgrades. Mike VI will be happy.

And if what would PETA complain about? A caged animal in a very nice habitat or the fact that tigers eat meat? :dis:
