Wow...its always sad when a "Mike" passes on. I've been through a few though but it never gets any easier. Sad day for Tiger faithful.

Well, it's the record for oldest living tiger in captivity something like 26 years? If so, Mike lived a decently long life....say...oh....I dunno, like 70 years old in Tiger years??? Reguardless, 17 years in captivity is almost surely twice as long as he would have lived in the wild, so PETA can STFU. Not exactly, but they are looking to acquire another tiger. (per espn and per LSU website) Also, I read a post on another forum that the new tiger will be a full blooded bengal tiger. It will be part of a international breeding and preservation program.
