As a Bama fan in Bossier and a season ticket holder to Tiger stadium for the past 4 years, 2 children attending LSU. It is truly a sad day in Tigerland. I have attended only one basketball game at LSU since I’ve lived here in Louisiana for the past 26 years, and it was the Ala-LSU game in Feb 1990. That night the cheerleader Mike the Tiger came down from the ceiling on a rope and then presented the crowd with MIKE V. This is a huge loss for the LSU faithful and all college football fans. Mike V was a large part of "Saturday Night in Tiger Stadium" that will be greatly missed. I hope a new tiger can be acquired as soon as possible to continue this great tradition.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. So many of us come to know Mike the Tiger at different times of our lives. Children so love Mike when they come to visit. I believe his service is the first real connection of a young child has to LSU. It's hard for them to understand football and the University but they immediately love Mike and associate Mike with LSU and all the other fun we all have.

I hope they will consider having a grave site for Mike V near his habitat. It would be a nice tradition to have a place for all of us to remember Mike V while celebrating the new Mike VI.

To Mike V, you are free for ever now to run and play where ever and when ever you want. Thanks for all the Joy you have given us all these years!

I agree on what they should do for his burial site. He deserves to be buried near his home and forever remembered by the Tiger faithfull.

I will be very dissapointed if they dont.

I was also a student at LSU when Mike V arrived. I remember that inaugural basketball game very well.

I just glanced at the poster (in my classroom) of Mike the day they let students play with him outside his cage as a cub. I almost cried in front of my entire 8th period class.

I can still see him pacing back and forth with so much swagger when he was a young Tiger. It was a time when our football team was abysmal, but Mike had pride. He lived to represent us during our 2003 national championship and our prestigious ascension to the cream of the crop in college football.

Rest in peace, Mike V. It's a sad day for LSU Tigers everywhere.
