Damn!!!!! My wife and little boy left the house an hour ago to go and see him. I know he was getting old but it's still sad news.
His passing must be somewhat sooner than anticipated. It appears they did not have the opportunity to relocate him for retirement (which should have lasted at least a year) and have not announced the next Tiger. Wasn't the plan to begin this transition six months from now? It sure is ashame for this to happen today. LSU is packed with visitors for commencement.
i used to walk by his cage almost every day on the way to class. it was unseasonably cool days like this one, where he'd be out and pacing. something about that as a tiger fan made me feel good starting my days that way. like seeing him out was a bonus to my day. R.I.P. Mike V :bncry: "...make Mike the Tiger :tigerhead stand right up and roar (ROAR!). give it all of your might as you fight tonight, and keep the goal in view. VICTORY FOR LSU!!!!"
I used to study by his cage almost nightly. He was always active at nigh. He would pace and sometimes attach the tire in his cage. This is a very sad day, and I feel sorry for the LSU students who are graduating today.
