Disagree with you here. Michigan's got deep pockets and more than afford to pay him the $5m he's currently making with the 49ers. Does anyone ever wonder why Michigan is the only team that ever pursues? And there are apparently even folks there that don't want him. There was one time when Ark feigned interest in him, but it was clear to everyone except Alleva that that was just a bargaining tactic to sweeten Miles' contract. There's no denying his accomplishments here, but if he's such a great coach, why aren't other teams interested? Is it his ancient offensive philosophy? Or is it his reputation as a goof ball? Or do his peers just not view him as a great coach? I guess it may be a little of each. Anyone else want to chime in with their thoughts on this?

If everything falls together and Freeze signs the bottom line he'll be making over four million per year based on a resume' that's 11-13 in conference play. Weigh that against Coach Cut going 25-23 in conference play and getting fired. I could care less. But, the side of me that gets a little enjoyment out of watching schools make some questionable decisions on compensation for coaches (and hires) is being fed. I can't help but think/wonder if this is the same road traveled by A&M with Sumlin getting five million per year (currently at two games over .500 like Cut when he was fired.)
