1. California is certainly beautiful--way prettier than Texas, where I live.

But, yes, they think very highly of their state. Which is fine, I guess.

  3. Both are very close, real close.
  4. Yep.

Californians are smarmy. Texans are just plain obnoxious about it.

  5. This is true. I gave birth to two Texans, and as we re-enter the state any time we travel, they throw a mini-celebration over being back in Texas. I've come to see it as cute.

  6. My oldest grandbaby was born in Tx, but she will tell you that she is a Tiger.

One of my coaching buddies daughter graduated here in Tx, since he had coached all over, he asked where she wanted to go to college, Auburn. Since he had coached at 4 SEC schools, guess that wasn't too bad. He had also coached out in Zona, I guess barn wasn't too bad. Last year, every time I would see her, I would ask, an who was it that beat barn during the season?
  7. We lived there for six years....my wife needs the bumper sticker "I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as fast as I could". To say Native Texans are proud if their state is an understatement. They literally believe they could secede from the US.

  8. A friend of mine in La, has a sticker on the back of his truck, "We don't care how you do it up North!" An I never heard of anyone retiring and moving up North.

  9. There was an episode of King of the Hill where the guys were all getting special license plates thY said Native Born Texan. They turned down Hank's application because he couldn't prove he was born where he thought he was. He had a fit when it turned out he was born in New York City
