1. Well, Jackson had vitiligo, a pigmentation disorder, like Karl Dunbar from LSU. Of course his ego made him depigment other areas to blend in with his skin disease. Now they can repigment the lighter areas. Oh well. RIP.

  3. I read somewhere that the first time Astaire saw the moonwalk he wept with joy.
  4. No one could even come close to Astaire ( well, maybe Eleanor Powell) and Kelly was a much better dancer than Jackson.
  5. Fred Astaire probably first saw the moonwalk in the 1940's only then they called it the backslide. Bill Bailey and Cab Calloway did it on film then, but it was an old tap dancers move. Jackson just did it very well . . . but not as good as the guy who taught it to him--Jeffrey Daniel of Shalamar.
