DANJUAI N Carson: I have a question about jamarcus russell. If jamracus russell looks sharp against norte dame and outplays brady quinn,do you think he if he comes out he can become the best qb in the draft.

[IMG] Mel Kiper: (1:13 PM ET ) It's possible. He's going to have a very high grade. That's a showcase game with two outstanding college QBs. Russell has a team that's a favorite in the game. It's almost a home game for them. In terms of Russell, he's got a phenomenal arm. He's a huge QB in the pocket. He can make every throw. His decision making has improved. He shakes off mistakes. He has a short memory. That would be a real battle between now and April 28. Remember, Oakland and Detroit will have two high picks in the draft.

If JR were going to an NFL team early, I would rather him go to Detroit over Oakland. Sure, Oakland has Randy Moss but that team is just a grease fire. Detroit has better wide recievers as a whole...plus he would be treated like he deserves...with respect.

Like the Lions are going to take a QB. Millen is awful, he has to have had butt sex with the Lions owner to still have a job.

There is no doubt in my mind that Millen is going to change up his drafting philosophy and take Calvin Johnson with the Lions first pick.

Matt Millen is the GM equivalent of Al Davis.

Matt Millen is expected to be fired at season's end. Al Davis is still not sure if he will fire himself as of yet.

I think that after Charles Rogers and Mike Williams, that just maybe Millen has learned his lesson about the recievers. The only one that really worked out was Roy Williams. If he passed on JR, he should definately be fired.

That would convince me to stay in school another year and then give the draft a shot in 08!

You're right. Picking between Detroit and Oakland would be like chosing the best looking waitress at the Waffle House.:hihi:

I can tell you that JR rathers Oakland and Cleveland over all the other teams in pursuit of a QB.

Oakland because of Jordan and Moss

and Cleveland because of Romeo Crennel.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Oakland trade Moss and Porter for soem draft picks becuase they have so many hopes on the Oline, Dline and of course QB. I would hate to see JR go to Oakland because I think they have by far the worst Oline this year.

At least with Cleveland they have the excuse that they were decimiated on the Oline with injuries. They will get LeCharles Bentley back next year which will be a huge help.

I don't think JR going to Detroit would be too bad. They have offensive talent in Roy Williams, a very underrated kevin jones, and they got Martz as OC. The problem in Detroit is the defense. Cleveland doesn't seem so bad either, Crennel seems to have them on the right track but they have Frye and Anderson already there. Oakland is just a bad situation to go into, sure he would have moss but look how much he is doing this year.
And...I don't like the idea of Aaron Brooks teaching JR the ropes of the game...
