I am not happy about RP not playing this weekend. However I am looking forward to seeing Matt play the entire game. The passing game and the option will be in good hands. It is just too bad we lose are great backup for this game.:geaux:

I just heard that Early Doucet will revive his QB skills if needed.

I was thinking along those lines, myself. Will be nice to see if Flynn is able to get into an even better flow than he did with Auburn. Also, I won't miss those wasted timeouts trying to avoid delay of game penalties after a QB swap.

I think we underestimated his ankle injury. If the last game was any indication I expect Flynn to play pretty well. He doesn't need to be a hero, just manage the game, and I suspect he will. :thumb:

I believe and hope that Flynn will perform under this added pressure of not having Perrilloux as backup. Kind of reminded me of him thrown into the Miami game. He will be cool.

The key thing is whether the rest of the team , esp. the offense, will step up with him and perform to their potential. I would tend to think that they would with Flynn as their leader.

That makes them "Not wasted"- that's one reason we have them. WE still had one left after the clock rang 00:00.

A timeout to avoid a completely avoidable penalty (due to either shoddy execution or poor coaching) is in my opinion a waste.

Whatever. I get the sense that the board is in a post-Varsity fiasco "happy joy good news only" mood. I'll comply.

I agree with that, it's just that we (Including me) get in this mindset that they are only for final, game-winning drives and forget they are other "Good" uses.

Personally, I'd rather see them used to prevent penalty yardage than to ice a kicker.

Hmm. I agree. I'm sure it works sometimes, but I haven't seen it work in awhile. But then, I don't watch much football 'cept the Tigahs. It's how I stay married....

you also don't NEED the score to be say.... LSU 42 BAMA 17, to win the game. Ahead by 1 will give you a W. However its nice to have at the end of a game.:thumb:

    PS. i know a large MOV=style points.
